SAFETY AND SECURITY MANAGER

We have an exciting, new opportunity for a Safety/Security Manager in the eastern Region of the company. Reporting to the Corporate Safety Director, the position will be responsible for the tactical implementation of corporate safety-related initiatives, and will serve as a security resource for the 6 distribution centers in the East Region. the positions calls for an experienced Safery professional who has some security experience, and who possesses leadership skills, strong project management skills, and organizational and mentoring background.
Specific responsibilities include:
* identify, develop and drive safety initiatives to ensure a safe and healthy work environment
* work with facility general managers and safety professionals on safety and security concerns
* lead the Region Safety Team
* oversee the Region's OSHA compliance
* establish safety goals, along with the plans and measurements to reach those goals
* identify, design, and deliver safety training
* management of the Region's Workers compensation claims processing and claims management
* conduct safety and security audits
Qualifications include:
* Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline
* 5-10 years of related safety experience, including proven experience in the development of safety strategies and procedures
* in depth experience with OSHA compliance, accident investigation, and Workers Compensation
* exceptional communication and presentation skills to effectively interface with colleagues at all levels of the organization
* strong analytical, project management, planning and organizational skills
* previous experience is warehousing and distribution with multiple locations is a plus
